In our work, we are healing our relationship with technology. We make rituals – an entirely new model for technology that draws on the neuroscience of love and transformation to reflect and amplify resilience, compassion and co-creation to transform ourselves, our collectives and interactive technology. Our model is a refreshing transmutation of the gamification model that reflects and amplifies reactivity and dominance.
As our community director at TRU LUV, you will own the care and growth of our community to support our commitment to inviting people into transformation and greater wellbeing. Expanding upon a solid foundation of community marketing, you will research and implement transformative experiences for our audience. You will drive all social media, newsletters and other community platforms you own through co-creation and impact optimization to create impact to our audience’s transformations, inviting them into increased awareness, resilience, compassion and co-creative ability.
You will work with our executive team, community lead, product lead and impact manager to define and document your own vision, mission, commitments, methods and results for your initiatives. Over time you will grow your vertical team and support the comms horizontal team in a two-dimensional reporting structure to ensure your commitments are met in each cycle and each quarter. You will start with hands-on responsibilities, gradually delegating as you grow your team.
You will develop community initiatives across multiple platforms and for multiple projects, from our experimental app #SelfCare (over 4m downloads with no advertising) to our currently undisclosed projects in AR and social media.

YOUR WORK DAY MIGHT LOOK LIKE:
Each development cycle, bringing 1-3 insights from the previous cycle to benefit our team direction
Each development cycle, for each area of your ownership, revisiting what gaps you’ve identified, what new support you need, which stakeholders you need such support from, and what support you can let go of
Developing and implementing our community growth strategy to create a worldwide supportive and transformative movement
Working closely with our impact manager to optimize our #SelfCare-to-community funnel
Driving your ownership forward using our co-creative process, identifying your stakeholders and benchmarks, inviting all relevant stakeholders into requirements analysis, and delegating or doing the work as required, committing to a result you choose to directly support our mission
Exploring possibilities with our team of designers and illustrators to implement and/or integrate their work into your initiatives and iterate with them on their designs in a series of rapid prototypes tested with audience members
Directing, writing and editing community content
Managing social media and other platforms
Understanding and adhering to social media, IP and other relevant laws and regulations
Testing and implementing additional community platforms, developing guidelines, enrolling community moderators and managing online community engagement and care
Developing and documenting community best practices
Developing and managing marketing budgets
Managing basic PR including press releases and community content
Growing and mentoring your team
Cultivating our team’s group flow and magnifying opportunities and resolving tensions using a tend-and-befriend approach and conscious leadership tools, addressing opportunities and tensions directly with relevant stakeholders in open communication and expansive team rituals
Co-creating team rituals for presence and transformation
Exploring your consciousness to inform your work
Exploring our group flow to inform your work
Optimizing your initiatives for transformational impact to our team and audience’s transformations, increasing awareness, resilience, compassion, and co-creative ability rather than optimizing for compulsive use
Supporting the evolution of a variety of initiatives and taking us further into the possibilities of transformative communities
WHAT YOU BRING TO TRU LUV:
1+ years’ experience in a community director or senior community management role managing compassionate and generous communities
4+ years’ experience working in community or communications roles
Successful experience establishing and building highly engaged online communities
Comfortable in a startup where plans and priorities change quickly and everyone helps each other out to achieve our deliverables
Creativity, adaptability and resilience
Strong direction skills such as in briefing your team and executing on your vision
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage a high degree of ownership with shifting priorities and an attention to detail
Excellent interpersonal, communication and relationship building skills and a passion for emotional intelligence
Thorough problem-solving abilities
A thoughtful and considerate mindset
A proven background communicating with executives, high-profile individuals and other professionals
Post-secondary qualifications in communications, marketing or social impact, or equivalent independent study and/or work experience
