About the Director, Paid Media at Headspace:
At Headspace, the Paid Media team is responsible for bringing in highly engaged new members to the Headspace experience. They partner closely with the rest of the Marketing team as well as Product, Finance, and Data teams to create and iterate on innovative data-driven marketing plans that support the growth of our business. The Director, Paid Media is a critical member of the marketing leadership team who will define strategies, build and develop a team, manage relationships with key agencies and platform partners, oversee the management of the media budget, and work with senior stakeholders including executive management, to ensure visibility and alignment of KPIs and performance.
The ideal candidate will have experience managing a significant media budget with an eye towards rapid but sustainable growth. You must be a media expert with the analytical rigor to understand and optimize performance media while appreciating the nuance and impact of brand building.  You obsess over things like CPA, ROAS, and incrementality. You will continuously evolve and optimize our media mix across the funnel to achieve ambitious sign up goals. You will be responsible for unlocking growth in our core markets as well as our priority global expansion markets.   In addition, you must be an inspirational leader who can grow and nurture a world-class team
Location: This role is open to remote employees in select US states: California, New York, Florida, Georgia, Texas, Maryland + Washington DC, North Carolina and Washington. 

How your skills and passion will come to life at Headspace:

    • Develop cutting edge acquisition strategy and lead best-in-class execution to establish Headspace as the fastest-growing leader in the category
    • Optimize media mix to drive maximum new member acquisition across all brand and performance channels, including TV, OOH, audio, display, social, programmatic, etc
    • Test and expand into new online and offline channels to reach new audiences and unlock efficiencies
    • Partner with Data and Engineering to implement measurement and reporting capabilities, develop attribution and optimization models, and define tech stack to enable real-time data-driven decision making
    • Manage all media agency relationships, defining new partners as needed to achieve KPIs
    • Partner with Design team and leverage experimentation mindset to optimize creative assets across channels and campaigns
    • Grow, manage and mentor a talented media & performance markeintg team

What you’ve accomplished:

    • 7-10+ years of experience driving growth for digital direct-to-consumer companies; experience driving growth for a subscription business is a must
    • Demonstrated breadth and depth in performance marketing and media planning
    • Proven team leadership with the ability to attract, cultivate and retain top performers
    • Strong collaborator at the leadership level while also being comfortable doing the day-to-day blocking and tackling work required to scale the organization
    • Tech-savvy with an in-depth knowledge of key marketing platforms and performance tools
    • Deeply analytical and data-driven; expertise with CPA, LTV, ROAS, A/B testing, attribution models, and cohort analysis
    • Excellent communication skills; both verbal and written to clearly convey market dynamics, strategies, tactics, rationale and results, to internal and external stakeholders
    • Ability to lead through change and ambiguity while building foundational strategy and core competencies
