Our small team of data science, IOS engineering, and product leadership have been developing for a few years and are ready to take the business to the next level. We have moved from a regional focus to global best-in-class talent to break through and become the defining brand in this space.


In this role, you will ideate and build hardware for the above portfolio company. Enabling our vision of ubiquitous and continuous biomonitoring devices that connect human biology with a supportive ecosystem that enables free mental health care for all. You will work closely with the Head of Product and Founder to deliver immediate, off-the-shelf hardware solutions while conceptualizing and rapidly prototyping next-generation wearables and a suite of IoT devices that provide the data supporting users to live their best lives. You will build wearables that capture biometrics that speak to the very core of what it means to be human bringing Navy Seal grade sensing to the masses. You will collaborate with bio-physiologists, data science and engineering innovating on the edge of how hardware meets biology to create experiences that help people lead their best life.

You will be your own test subject monitoring and testing prototype after prototype to meet requirements such as comfort, ease of use, speed to market, cleanest possible bio-signal, long-lasting, and BLE enabled so that each prototype is better than the last before. Finally, handing your creation off for scalable production. You will write the firmware for your software engineering counterparts and provide continual QA testing to help find and eliminate bugs.

You will research new and use your existing relationships with hardware manufacturers and contacts from Shenzhen to Puducherry to Silicon Valley, reducing timelines, costs and eliminating redundancies whenever possible. You will investigate new battery and rechargeable solutions, strap-free biosensing stickers, and miniaturized solid-state memory storage, all to find the most favourable location, size and device type to capture the necessary biometrics that level the biased health care system.


Visionary – While you live in the real world, you know that what is possible is far greater than what is done today. You spend your time dreaming up exoskeletons, implantable brain-machine devices, and AI-driven biosensing wearables that turn us into superheroes.

Curious – Others may not understand you, but they didn’t understand Albert Einstein in his lifetime either. You need to know why and how things work to make sense of them. The sum is greater than the parts, but those parts complete the machine work. You started dismantling and rebuilding small appliances as a kid, and you have never stopped tinkering running test after test after test to get consistent results.

Accelerator – In hardware, timelines matter, so you’ve developed keen project management skills that leap-frog redundant steps. Third-party manufacturing requires incredible coordination between teams inside and outside organizations. As a result, you can keep them all moving forward to a schedule because you have to ship it for people to use it, and you don’t have time for lazy.

Resourceful/Savvy – You don’t bother investigating a broken supply chair, you figure out how to bypass it. When someone doesn’t deliver, you already have a backup plan and an alternative solution, so you’re not road blocked. You know that well-formed relationships can be the deciding factor in shortening delivery times. You’ve cultivated relationships from Shenzhen to Puacherry and around the globe for precisely that reason. You don’t wait for answers. You go out and find them.

  • Understand the needs of data science and biophysics to deliver off the shelf, ready-to-use hardware solutions that improve on the existing device.
  • Manage budgets, supply chain, manufacturers and vendors to ensure existing devices are always up to date with upgraded features and options.
  • Develop the hardware roadmap, with a rough scale up plan for execution and detailed specs, timelines, and go-to-market needs and execute against it.
  • Ideate, rapidly prototype, test, build and ship a suite of wearable and IoT devices that democratize laboratory biosensing devices that turn humans into superheroes.
  • Contribute to the vision, thought-leadership, intellectual property and patenting for a product based on helping humanity thrive in the 21st century and beyond.
  • Strategize creative solutions to solve impossible hardware problems understanding critical trade-offs to support users and business needs now and in the future.
  • Suggest and implement product and process improvements to reduce cost and increase quality, reliability, and efficiency.
  • Establish deep relationships with new and existing vendors, create SLAs and hold vendors accountable to ensure inventory sustainability, management, and emergency back-ups.
  • Conduct ongoing R&D to identify best-in-class devices, vendors, and new biosensing technology for current and future product needs.


  • Deep passion for wearable technology, biosensing devices, IoT, human performance, and building on the edge of possibility.
  • Ph.D. or MS in electrical/hardware engineering or relevant experience in biosensing and biomedical devices.
  • 3+ years of providing hardware solutions engineering on software/hardware projects.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience working with hardware in biomedical sciences and or physiological signal processing as it pertains to biorhythms and wearable devices.
  • Demonstrated experience in Hardware Embedded Systems Design
  • Demonstrated experience with battery-powered systems and circuit design using various microcontrollers and SoC.
  • Experience scaling up manufacturing in Asia and working with contract manufacturers.
    Experience with embedded processors (RISC or ARM). Programmable logic (CPLD or FPGA) development and testing.
  • Experience working with BLE-enabled hardware, IoT devices, self-powered dynamic systems and firmware.
  • Knowledge of C is an asset as is experience with ISO 13485.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively with teams
  • Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage own workload while multitasking in order to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Must thrive in a start-up, fast-paced, ever-changing work environment and be comfortable navigating the “grey.”
  • An interest in peak performance, the human potential movement, physiology or biology is preferred.
  • Preference is given to applicants with experience working with and in startup environments.
  • Preference is given to applicants with experience working with entrepreneurial visionary leaders.


An aggressive base salary will be provided in this position, with an additional lucrative bonus plan based on performance. Full medical benefits are provided as part of this role. Options/equity will be provided to suitable candidates after completion of the first 90 days. This role also provides the opportunity for advancement in role, function, and pay.
