Tech lead for a team of Full-Stack engineers

We’re looking for a talented Full Stack Engineer to join our small but agile Applications Engineering team, which consists of developers who value shipping code, owning their products, learning from one another, and having a blast doing it. The ideal candidate will be leading the development of our  web applications powering our next-generation careers marketplace, from the APIs to the user interface.

Responsibilities

    • Tech lead for a team of Full-Stack engineers
    • Work with Product Lead to deliver quality products in an agile environment.
    • Design well-structured APIs and services for both internal and external use
    • Create delightful user interfaces used by many thousands of users every day
    • Create tech specs based off of product specs, thinking through the full stack architecture
    • Mentor, lead, and inspire more junior engineers on the team, growing them into potential tech leads of the future
    • Work efficiently in both a team and self-directed manner

Requirements

    • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and organizational skills
    • Can-do engineer with demonstrated ability to thrive in a startup environment, get work done, ship product, and move us forward
    • Solid problem-solving and debugging skills
    • Extensive experience working with product managers to turn a product vision into reality, able to communicate tradeoffs and give technical advice
    • Extensive experience working with Python/Django and React/Redux/Javascript, or proven to be able to pick up new frameworks quickly
    • Mastery of the SDLC and an emphasis on testing
    • Experience developing + maintaining a global enterprise SAAS product
    • You should be very comfortable with Git

Nice to haves:

    • Previous experience as a senior member of a team and ability/enthusiasm to mentor less senior teammates
    • Experience building responsive web apps
    • Docker, Kubernetes, AWS
    • Experience instrumenting systems with New Relic or a similar APM technology
    • Working with remote teamsWorking with a microservice architecture
    • Experience building systems in the HR Tech ecosystem
    • Open source contributions
